Description: Encounter two very different types of trails in one on this adventure. First, our journey starts on an old roadbed alongside a gorgeous mountain river, surrounded by moss covered boulders. Enjoy a multitude of spring wildflowers and year-round picturesque small cascades before encountering more challenging terrain as the trail climbs through a rhododendron tunnel. Later, the path narrows and becomes steep in places, but well worth the effort. Finally, pass through a breathtaking ancient Appalachian Cove forest found nowhere else on Earth. Pause in the presence of trees the size of Roman columns on the way to the highest and most beautiful waterfall in the Park.
