Shuttle Service | Public and Private

A Walk in the Woods has always provided quality Smoky Mountain shuttle service that is private to you and your party. However, with the Park’s new Park it Forward initiative, we see a need for a public shuttle option, primarily for folks heading up to LeConte Lodge. We have come up with a few shuttle loop options to help people get to and from downtown Gatlinburg to Alum Cave Bluffs Trailhead, Newfound Gap (for the Boulevard Trailhead), Bullhead Trailhead and Rainbow Falls Trailhead. We realize this will not solve everyone’s shuttling woes. If our public option does not fit into your schedule, feel free to fill out one of our private Smoky Mountain shuttle request forms below.

Please note: Shuttles require a minimum of 4 to confirm. If we do not reach a 4 person minimum, we will reach out to see if you would like to pay to meet the 4 person minimum or cancel for a refund. Shuttles do not run daily at all times, unless they have confirmed. Each shuttle is ONE WAY. If you are utilizing our shuttle service for a day hike, you will need to book a shuttle to get to the trailhead and a shuttle from the trailhead. If both desired times are not available on our website, please reach out to our office to see if we have availability.

If you are not being picked up at the initial meeting location, but somewhere along the loops route, please note that in your reservation questionnaire once you book.

Ober Mountain Parking Lot (309 Long Branch Rd) is a paid parking lot at $10 per night. Click HERE to print out your parking pdf for your dash. You will still pay at the kiosk when you arrive.

Please note that, outside of our initial pick up times, arrival times are approximate. There are many factors that affect arrival time that are beyond our control, such as the weather and traffic conditions.

The parking lot at 309 Long Branch Rd is operated by Ober Mountain. In partnership with LeConte Lodge they are reserving a number of spaces for LeConte guests. Please visit LeConteLodge.com for more information on LeConte Parking Tags.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is enforcing parking tags for any vehicle parked longer than 15 minutes at any location in the Park. You can get your daily or weekly parking tag through us (a small convenience fee will be applied if we purchase and print your tag) or here.

Shuttle Cancellation Policy:
Shuttles for 1-5 clients canceled more than 72 hours prior to scheduled departure will receive a full refund. Shuttles for 1-5 clients canceled 72-48 hours prior to scheduled departure will receive a 50% refund. Shuttles for 1-5 clients canceled within 48 hours of scheduled departure time will not be refunded. For shuttles with over 6 clients we require 1 week notice to cancel. Cancellations between 1 week and 72 hours will be refunded 50% of cost. Shuttles canceled within 72 hours of departure will not be refunded. Although occasional rain is part of the Smoky Mountain experience, we will provide a refund in the event of unsafe weather related conditions providing that our driver has not already left to do your shuttle. Should a severe weather event occur and you are already doing the shuttle, we will refund you for the unused segment of your shuttle.

We pride ourselves for being on time. We ask that you are on time for your shuttle. We may have other shuttles scheduled around you and will not have time to wait. For every 15 minutes your party is late, there will be an additional charge of $10. If we cannot wait any longer and need to make a 2nd trip to pick up your group, there will be an additional charge of $50.
